The Civil Engineering Lab in Transportation EngineeringSchoolis certificated as the Key Laboratory of Highway Engineering of Liaoning Province，and attached to the Key Discipline of Road and Railway Engineering of Liaoning Province. The Civil Engineering lab is consisted of Road Engineering lab, Bridge Engineering lab, Geotechnical Engineering lab, Civil Materials lab, Structure Test lab, and Numerical Analysis lab. The total area of the Civil Engineering lab is about 2000 m². There are 18 members in this lab, including 7 professors, 4 associate professors, 6 lecturers, and 1experimental teacher. There are over 200 instruments in the lab, whichisworthy of over RMB.10 million. Except for the regular teaching instruments, there are large-scale instruments such as rock triaxial rheological apparatus, wireless bridge and structure test system, experimental loading system for the foundation model of seabed, bending beam rheometer, dynamic shear rheometer, software of concurrent computation and analysis for structure, dynamic data collection and signal analysis system, fiber optic grating demodulation system, etc.

The lab is used for undergraduate experimental teaching, teaching reform projects, innovation and entrepreneurship training program for college students, teaching and scientific research for the second-class discipline of Road and Railroad Engineering and first-class discipline of Civil Engineering. The courses which are carried out in this lab are tests of civil engineering materials, detection technology of road engineering, detection technology of bridge engineering, tests of structure design principle, soil mechanics tests, engineering survey, etc. A lot of national and provincial level scientific research projects have been undertaken in the lab. Many high-quality papers have been published from the experimental work in the lab. Many scientific research achievements have been successfully transformed, and applied to the constructions of road engineering, bridge engineering and tunnel engineering. Furthermore, good social and economic benefits have been achieved.
