Goals and Objectives:

Graduates with master degrees have a good command of mathematics, mechanics and relevant physics theories and system, understand the current status and development trend of the discipline, develop the ability to correctly build a mathematical model of mechanics for complex research objects, and improve skills in applying various analytical methods, numerical calculations, and experimental methods to conduct researches. Besides, graduates are proficient in a foreign language and able to read literature of the discipline in foreign language. Moreover, with a rigorous and realistic scientific attitude and dedication, the graduates qualify for scientific researches.

Discipline Profiles:

The main research areas include: engineering scientific calculation, characterization of material mechanical behavior, composite materials and its structural analysis, computational engineering software development, mechanics and multidisciplinary coupling problems in the field of engineering disciplines as well as the testing and analysis of material and mechanical structural strength and vibration. A great number of research projects in the discipline has been undertaken that include the National Natural Science Fund of China, the National Natural Science Fund, the National Science and Technology Research Project, and Major Engineering Research Projects. The main research fields are as follows: numerical methods of structural analysis and its application in traffic engineering, structural analysis and application of composite materials in vehicles.
