Goals and Objectives:

This program aims at developing professionals who systematically master the basic theory andrelevantprofessional knowledge of transportation engineering; comprehensively understand the national demands, development status, and the latest domestic and foreign research trendsonrelated research directions; cultivatestudents’ ability to engage in research, education and specialized technical workso thatthe graduatesgreatly developcreativity andindependently solve the practical problems of engineering.

DisciplineProfiles:

Road andRailwayEngineering is the main key discipline in Liaoning Province, and isalsotheprogramfor sub-disciplinedoctor/masterdegree of the main disciplineoftransportation engineering. With its focus on offshore engineering, the discipline combinesthe development demands of national transportationwithtraditional advantages of Dalian Maritime Universityand high-level researches have beencarried out in many aspects,includingthe key technologies in the modeling of cross-sea bridge infrastructure (BIM), destruction analysis and durability evaluation of sub-grade and pavements, detection diagnosis and evaluation of large-scale bridge structures,theevaluation of bridge durability and reinforcement, mechanical and stability analysis of transportation geotechnical engineering and performance-based seismic design of bridge structures and port engineering. There are currently 18 teachers in this discipline team, including 7 professors, 4 associate professors, 7 doctoral supervisors, 16 master supervisors,amongwhom 2 teachers haveearned titles of“New Century TalentsScheme from Ministry of Education of China”, “Youth Scientific and Technological Talent from Ministry of Transport of China”, and “Outstanding Talents Supply Plan from Department of Education of Liaoning Province in China”. Manyteachersin this discipline serve as experts, consultants, or directorsindesign companies, provincial and municipal industry associations and haveagreatinfluencewithin the industry. Thisdisciplinehas Road and Bridge Inspection Center of the Ministry ofTransportand Liaoning Provincial Key Laboratory of Highway Engineering. In recent years, we haveundertaken dozens of national and provincial scientific research projects andpublished hundreds of academic papers whichwere includedinSCI, EI, etc.;many monographshave beenpublished; more than 10 invention patentshave beenapplied for;and several provincial and ministerial scientific research awardshave beenearned. Some research achievements have successfully beentransformed toproductivity, making great contributions to the development of national transportation engineering.
