This program aimsatdevelopingsenior engineering technology and management professionals who master the basic theoretical knowledge and professional skills for transportation engineering. Candidates possess innovative consciousness and practical application ability to adapt to modern transportation development and be competent for scientific and technological innovation and development, transportation engineering planning and management, new technology popularization and application as well as transportation organizing and management in transportation engineering.

Discipline Profiles:

In 2009, the reform of postgraduate education wasimplementedin China and a full-time professional degree wasawarded. Its aim is to train postgraduates by classification method to strengthen the training of postgraduates with professional skills whilefocusing onthe training of academic postgraduates. The full-time transportation engineering discipline in our university is a professional counterpart to transportation planning and management discipline. The training goals of transportation engineering arein conformity withthose of transportation planning and management, but it puts more emphasis on the cultivation of practical skills.There arefive researchfieldsin the transportation engineering disciplineinvolvingtransportation development strategy and tactic, transportation system planning and design, transportation modernization management, port and shipping economy and shipping finance.

The disciplineofprofessional degreehas strong scientific research strength in the field of transportation engineering, especially in the fields of transportation planning, shipping and port management, shipping and port economy, intelligent transportation technology, transportation development strategy and tactic, transportation technology economy, and modern management.Over100 major scientific research projects have been funded by the nation, Liaoning province and national industrial administrations and enterprises. More than 10 prizes have been awarded at provincial and ministerial levels and over 30 monographs have been published.
