Goals and Objectives:

Thisprogram aims at developing senior logistics professionals who have a solid theoretical basis for logistics engineering and management andexerciserigorous scientific research style.Candidatesmaster the leading-edge academic trends of the discipline, raise, debate, discuss scientific research issuesas well asdevelop certain academic research and innovation abilities.

Discipline Profiles:

The discipline of logistics engineering and management in Dalian Maritime University (DMU), which is included in the first-level discipline of the transportation engineering, is independently designed as the second-level disciplinewhich was authorized to enroll Doctor andMasterCandidates who were the first batch of doctoral/master graduate students in logistics in DMU in China.Throughthe “12th Five-Year Plan”and“211 Project”, the discipline of logistics engineering and management has become one of the main disciplines of “Double First-Class”. Basedon logistics, port and shippingenterprises and institutionswiththe new horizon of the international logistics industry opening up, this disciplinecultivates graduate students and takes the right development direction with distinctive port and shipping characteristics. The scale and level ofthediscipline have reached the highranksin the field in China.Currently, there are 10 professors and 7 associate professors,amongwhomthere are 6 doctoral supervisors and 15Master supervisors, whohave considerable professional experience of teaching and a valuable academic wealth of training.Teaching and scientific research are closely combined across the disciplines. In recent years, many projects have been funded, including over 20 National Natural Science Fund,10 National Social Science Fund, more than 30 projects of Humanities and Social Science Fund of the Ministry of Education and provincial ones like projects of Liaoning Province Natural Science Fund as well as over 100 projects of enterprises and institutions. More than 1000 academic papers have been published, among which over 300 papers have been included in SCI and EI database.In recent years, more than 40 PhD degreesand600master degrees have been conferred on.Each year, more than 80 PhD candidates and postgraduates are recruited.Meanwhile, more than 10 international PhD candidates and postgraduates are recruited each year to enhance international cooperation and exchange. This faculty has provided a large number of high-level, professional and inter-disciplinary talents for the transportation industry both at home and abroad.
