The major aims to train seniorlogistics engineeringand managementtalents, with basic knowledge, logistics practice operation and management related business, focusingon frontier problems about the logistics industry development, and innovative ability and team spirit.

Major advantages:

 The majorwas originallythe major of the Comprehensive TransportationofDepartment of the Shipping Management, Dalian Marine College in 1989, andis one of the original majors to train talentswithport and shipping logistics engineering technology and management. The major representsthe traditional advantage of Dalian Maritime University, and is themain major on the "double first class" construction list,as well asa brand major with the shipping characteristicsand great importance. This major has an important impact on the international logistics industry, such as shipping, port, freight forwarding and warehousing, as well as enterprises relating the transportation services and financial industry, universities and scientific research institutes.

This major has arational structure withteaching staff with leadingacademic level and extensive teaching experience, among whom, 90% owna doctoral degree. Besides, there is complete equipment for experimental teaching. In 2006, the major of logistics engineering was identified as a major primarily constructed by the university, in 2010, awarded as "Demonstrative Major of the Liaoning Province”, in 2014, ranked first in the undergraduate evaluation of Liaoning Province, and awarded as "undergraduate comprehensive reform pilot majorinLiaoning province". In 2015, the major was awarded "thepriormajorwithcharacteristic of Liaoning province." Meanwhile,with the support of themajor, DMU was identified as the off-campus practice education base for college studentsinLiaoning Province.
