To cultivate top technical and management talents, who hold the basic transportation theories and relevant professional knowledge and take the foreign trade transportation practice and rules, who are engaged in the national, provincial and city transportation management department, transportation enterprises and are able to undertake the port and shipping related careers in transportation management facilities at all levels, such as transportation planning, organization, management, decision making and operation, to meet the needs of socialist economic development. In particular, the outstanding engineers' program adopts school-enterprisejoint cultivation mode,which strengthens the cultivation of students' engineering practice abilitieson the basis ofthe training Goals and Objectives of ordinary classes, andfosterssenior technical talents with a strong engineering practice ability in transportation fields to meet the needs of the future development of the industryaccording to the related requirements of the Ministry of Educationfor outstanding engineers.

the major of Transportation has been authorized as “National Featured Major”, “Major for Outstanding Engineers Training Plan by the Ministry of Education”, “Province-level Key Major”, and “Experimental Major for Reformed Undergraduate Engineering Talents Education Modes of Regular Colleges and Universities in Liaoning Province” and “Model Major of Dalian Maritime University”. In June 2012, our program, for the first time, applied for “National Engineering Education Accreditation” and successfully passed authentication, thus becomes one of the focused brand majors with maritime features.
